Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot will now make up SMCP, an international fashion group. Creative, elegant, sophisticated, the 3 brands have combined their strengths and styles to create an accessible, high quality French fashion group. It now has worldwide locations.
If these 3 brands have succeeded in forging one of the rare French family fashion houses, it is because of their history.
Evelyne Chétrite, founder of Sandro, is its faithful artistic director. Her son Ilan takes care of the artistic direction of Sandro Homme. Judith Milgrom, sister of Evelyne, is artistic director of Maje.
Together, with the historic managers, Frédéric Biousse and Elie Kouby, they bought Claudie Pierlot and created the SMCP group in 2009. Then, they imagine a modern Paris fashion adventure.
Listening for continuous creation
Shareholders and managers guide the development of the group brands as close as possible to customer expectation. Their brand shops and sales offer them an almost immediate view of the fashion market and guarantee great reactivity and solid growth to the group.
This success has led KKR, one of the oldest and largest investment funds in the world, to acquire the majority of the capital of SMCP in 2013. The international presence of KKR and their great experience in the distribution sector form real assets to continue the strong growth of the SMCP group.
