About us

We want to make you feel good to look good

Effortless style, authenticity and easy-going living are at the heart of Esprit’s philosophy. Founded in San Francisco in 1968 by Susie and Doug Tompkins, Esprit has become an international fashion brand representing style and quality. Our basis is creativity and responsibility, fused with a sunny Californian attitude. Esprit's aspiration is to be the best casual fashion brand with an outstanding price-value proposition: Capturing market trends, quality fabrics and shapes, and turning them into that effortlessly relaxed style that is Esprit. The company's "esprit de corps" reflects a caring attitude towards people in line with our brand promise: "We want to make you feel good to look good“. Esprit is present in 40 countries with 761 retail stores and more than 6,332 wholesale locations. All of them share the company’s quality standards and brand essence. The group markets its products under two brands, Esprit and edc. Listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 1993, Esprit has headquarters in Germany and Hong Kong.

Because fashion needs awareness!

Esprit was founded in San Francisco in 1968, in a time and a place defined by the spirit of social engagement an environmental stewardship. We aim to empower all people touched by our business, from those who make our products to those who sell and wear them, to live a more positive, more authentic life. We believe that authenticity means that our actions align with our ideals. We believe that, despite our growth into a global brand at our core we are a real people company.

Better Design – Better Materials – Lower Impact

We seek to manage the full life-cycle of our products, from design to finished product and beyond, in a responsible and environmentally-friendly way, taking steps to reduce our environmental footprint and to empower suppliers as well as customers to join with us in this journey.

People matter

Sourcing responsibly and choosing the right partners has a high priority for Esprit, as we do not own any production facilities and rely on external partners. We have taken concrete steps to build stronger relationships with our suppliers, create a more transparent way of working and a transparent system of requirements to create a safer and more positive working environment within our supply chain. Over 525,000 people work to create Esprit garments every year. We acknowledge the essential contribution of these individuals, as well as our duty to make sure that we manage our supply chain in a responsible way, ensuring that all people who touch our products from the field to the store work in a safe and healthy environment.
