The Accademia di Costume e di Moda has both a long tradition and experience in training and education within the Costume and Fashion fields, qualifying itself as an centre of excellence in learning thanks to its educational offer and approach to teaching and learning. Its alumni are successful and accomplished designers and fashion professionals working within a huge variety of areas within the Fashion System or working as Costume Designers for important productions both at both national and international levels.
The first level undergraduate Academic Diploma in Costume and Fashion, is probably the only Diploma in the word that combines equally Fashion and Costume subject areas within the same educational path. Every discipline supports the student to develop drawing, design and technical competences, thanks to an approach which is linked to design and product through culture, experimentation and laboratory.
The objective is to place the student in the industry at the end of the curricular path: this is achieved by letting her/him build, acknowledge and consolidate a unique identity linked to creativity. The inspiration process and creativity must be continuously stimulated and backed by culture and knowledge, which are fostered by curiosity, and of course by disciplines as history of fashion, art, cinema and theatre.
The 1st level Academic Diploma in Costume & Fashion is for those wo have completed a Secondary High School Diploma or equivalent, achieved either nationally or internationally and who are willing to start a career in Costume, Fashion or Accessories.
Due to demand and in order to maintain a high level of quality, course has a limited number of places. To be admitted are necessary an entry portfolio, a motivational letter and a motivational interview.
The course duration is three academic years and attendance is mandatory from Monday to Friday however to be accepted at the final assessments students must have at least 80% proven attendance.
The educational path is organized and split into a variety of main subject areas and assessment will be held in three main sessions (June/July; September/October and February). The course ends with the discussion of a final dissertation at the end of the third and last Academic year.
