Fashion Design Haute Couture (Summer Course)

This course is aimed at advanced fashion design and pattern making students or fashion professionals willing to get a complete understanding of how Haute Couture companies operate. Modules will take students through complementary topics linking concept, techniques and image. Theoretical elements will be balanced by a mix of presentations, visits and workshops to discover Haute Couture techniques and production methods.

Course Objectives:

- Understand the specificities of French Haute Couture brands and the reasons of their success.
- Understand how French Haute Couture brands mix tradition and innovation to create product adapted to today’s exclusive luxury market. - Discover and experiment specific techniques and “know how” to produce Haute Couture and high luxury products. - Understand how Haute Couture brands communicate in coherence with their exclusive status.

Course Outcomes:

Creation of an Haute Couture piece of garment (Top) that will include all new technics learned during the course.
